Daniel stands between Jerusalem and Babylon in Scroll VII, Why They Changed His Name.

Scroll VII Is Now Available: Why They Changed His Name

Nabu returns to Daniel with a simple question: why was his Hebrew name changed in Babylon?

Daniel’s answer reaches far beyond a name. Babylon changed the names, food, language, and education of its young captives in an effort to claim them and reshape who they were.

But Daniel had never forgotten who he was—or whom he served.

“They changed our names to claim us.”

And yet:

“But we remembered who we were.”

Read Scroll VII — Why They Changed His Name and continue Nabu’s journey as Daniel’s memories begin to challenge what the young Babylonian scribe has always believed.
