The furnace is behind him, but Nabu cannot stop thinking about what Daniel has told him.
Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah entered the fire without knowing whether they would survive.
Later, alone beneath the stars, Nabu thinks of the fourth figure who joined them in the flames.
He did not save them from the fire. He joined them in it.
Nabu is not ready to call it belief.
But something has changed.
And I did not bow.
